Values & Vision

Our Mission

“ Loving God...Loving People ”

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.” - Matthew 22:37-39

Our Vision

"To teach and equip people to live a Spirit empowered, Bible centered, Jesus lifestyle so that through our church family God’s healing and hope can reach out to the world."

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” - Matthew 28:19-20

Our Values

Everything we do by way of activities and ministries is in some way focused towards achieving our goal:

to love God and love people.

Worship

We want to be people characterized by a worship lifestyle (prayer, service, fasting, Godly character...) and not just a worship event (Sunday morning and other gathering times). We hope that our corporate worship will be expressed creatively in a passionate, intimate way – in freedom within structure.

Reading the Word

We consider the bible the final authority of all matters regarding faith and conduct. We value studying the scripture and applying it to our daily lives for spiritual guidance and direction. Spending time reading and studying the bible is an important part of maturing in our faith.

Being actively outward-focused

We want our church to be good at loving it’s own people (those in the church) but we also want to be characterized by loving those outside the church. We do this through missions, serving the poor, personal evangelism, and community programs.

Generosity

We want to be a church that serves the broader church family as well as the “city church” of Abbotsford. We also want to be people who joyfully volunteer time, energy, and money in our church, community, and beyond.

Loving relationships in authentic community

We hope that our church is a safe, yet challenging environment, full of relationships that care, mentor/disciple, and provide accountability for one another. We highly value family and smaller relational groups where these things can happen most effectively.

Living “naturally supernatural”

The Vineyard movement was founded on “already-not yet” Kingdom Theology which believes that God is still very involved in speaking to us (the prophetic), healing, and working through us for other miracles, signs and wonders. So while God doesn’t always choose to heal, we pray for healing, and while he doesn’t always work the miracles we ask for, we continue to ask and take the risks we feel he’s led us to take, believing that he could show up at any time.
