Marriage

We believe marriage is one of the foundational pillars in the future of the Church. Our investment with our younger adults as they enter marriage is of our highest priority.

We feel that marriage is for life, so in that, we want to help in every way we can to make sure the selection of your spouse is as right as it can be.

Our vision is to:

• Help young couples explore pre-engagement. This is before any commitment is made for marriage so that energy and focus will be on what God is doing and saying in their lives.
• Offer pre-marriage counselling to address issues of relationships, finances, kids, conflict resolution, before getting married.
• Develop young married couples to “mentor other couples” as they prepare for marriage. This would be a couple on couple process.
• Continue working with young married couples in their first few years of marriage to help establish solid footing.
• Develop marriage weekends to enhance relationships and accountability.

We had a wonderful marriage retreat at Keats Island in March /07 and it was a great time away to focus on our marriages and to develop mutual accountability and support for our marriages within our church family. Plans are underway to offer another marriage retreat soon. Watch this site for details and keep checking the bulletins and e-newsletters for more information. Pre-engagement and pre-marriage counselling is available for couples planning on getting engaged or married in the near future. Please contact the church office. We would love to connect with you.

Join us on Saturday February 21st for our second annual Celebrating Marriages Banquet. This is a special evening of food, laughs, connecting and encouragement for our marriages, complete with a candellight dinner, romantic atmosphere and a fun-filled program. We'll be discussing the key ingredients to a strong and Godly marriage. Theme (and dress) for the evening is "jeans and gems". Cost is $50 per couple. Tickets available starting February 1st.
